Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have — in plain language.
Learning Loft Consulting and Advising, LLC ("Learning Loft," "we," "us," or "our") operates learningloftadvising.com — an independent marketplace connecting students, families, and education professionals with higher education support services.
Questions about this policy? Contact us at advising@learningloftadvising.com.
When you reach out through our contact form, we collect:
• Full name
• Email address
• Phone number
• The content of your message
Students, families, and education professionals who create an account provide:
• Name, email address, and password
• Professional credentials, areas of expertise, and bio (for education professionals)
• Academic background or areas of interest (for students)
• Profile photos or supporting documents you choose to upload
Education professionals who pay to be listed on the platform provide payment details. We do not store your full payment card information on our servers. Payments are processed through a secure third-party payment processor, and only limited transaction records (such as amount and date) are retained by us.
If you subscribe to our newsletter or email updates, we collect your name and email address to send you relevant content and announcements.
We use Calendly to allow visitors to book appointments with us. When you schedule through Calendly, you provide your name, email, and any notes you include. This information is collected and stored by Calendly in accordance with their own Privacy Policy (calendly.com/privacy). We receive a copy of your booking details to prepare for our meeting.
Like most websites, we may automatically collect basic technical information when you visit, including your IP address, browser type, pages visited, and time spent on the site. This helps us understand how our site is used and improve the experience.
We use the information we collect to:
• Respond to your inquiries and provide the services you request
• Create and manage your account or professional profile
• Process payments and maintain transaction records
• Send newsletters, updates, or promotional content (only with your consent)
• Schedule and prepare for advising appointments
• Improve and maintain our website and marketplace
• Comply with legal obligations
We will never sell your personal information to third parties.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share it in limited circumstances:
• Service Providers: Trusted third-party tools that help us operate (e.g., Calendly for scheduling, payment processors, email platforms). These providers are contractually obligated to protect your data and use it only to provide services to us.
• Marketplace Connections: If you are a student or family matched with a professional, relevant profile information is shared to facilitate that connection — consistent with your expectations in using the platform.
• Legal Requirements: If required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of our users or the public.
Our website may use cookies — small text files stored on your device — to improve your experience, remember preferences, and analyze traffic. You can control cookie settings through your browser at any time. Disabling cookies may affect some site functionality.
Third-party tools we use (such as Calendly) may also set their own cookies when you interact with embedded content on our site.
We retain your personal information only as long as necessary to provide our services, fulfill the purposes outlined in this policy, or comply with legal requirements. If you request deletion of your account or data, we will remove your information within a reasonable timeframe, unless we are required to retain it by law.
Depending on your location, you may have rights regarding your personal information, including the right to:
• Access, correct, or update your information
• Request deletion of your personal data
• Opt out of marketing communications at any time (via the unsubscribe link in any email)
• Request a copy of the data we hold about you
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at advising@learningloftadvising.com.
Our platform serves high school students, some of whom may be under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent. If a parent or guardian believes their child has provided us with personal information without consent, please contact us immediately and we will promptly remove it.
Parents and guardians are encouraged to review our platform and supervise their child's use of our services.
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. However, no method of internet transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we may notify you by email or by posting a notice on our website. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
